- Saffron Revolution (2007) -

Duration - 15 August 2007 to September 2008
The term “Saffron Revolution” derives from the color of the robes worn by monks in Burma. In this protests, monks played in the important role.
Human right violations was one of the reason for this protests. What is the aim? Their goals are to achieve Democracy, free elections and want to end of military involvement in politics.
Senior General Than Shwe, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Zarganar (Burmese Comedian) and U Gambira ( A leader of the Buddhist monks) are prominent individuals in this event.
During the Saffron Revolution, Kenji Nagai , a Japanese photojournalist.He was shot by stray bullets and later dying from gunshot injuri
es to the chest.He was the only foreign national killed in the protests.
